Lutz Scherneck at Nonna’s

Lutz is best known for his expressive acrylic paintings made from swathes of fluid color poured and drawn across the canvas. The influence of French Impressionist painters and contemporary American artists such as Pollock, Rothko, Hofmann, Frankenthaler, and Avery can be seen in Lutz's paintings. Whether his work is abstract or contains natural motifs, paint is the dominant subject.

Lutz says "Artists create expressions of personal perceptions they have experienced. Those expressions are confined to a limited space. Examining each work in its own context will reveal what the work is about. Therein is where quality lies." Lutz's work has been on display throughout Central New York and he has received numerous awards of recognition. A large mural of his painting in 2014 can be seen on Albany Street in Little Falls.
