A Taste of Opera

The Mohawk Valley Choral Society will perform its Spring concert, celebrating its 45th anniversary, on Sunday, May 3 at 3:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 2222 Genesee St., Utica.
Under the direction of John Krause, this year’s program, A Taste of Opera, will present arias and choruses by internationally acclaimed composers including Georges Bizet, W.A. Mozart, Pietro Mascagni, and Giuseppe Verdi.
A full 38-piece orchestra will accompany the ensemble, joined by distinguished soloists Laura Enslin (Soprano), Katie Weber (Alto), Daniel Fields (Tenor), and David Kolb (Baritone).
This concert aims to engage both seasoned opera enthusiasts and newcomers alike, offering selections tailored to inspire appreciation for the genre. Whether you are familiar with opera or exploring it for the first time, the event provides an exceptional opportunity to enjoy outstanding musicianship on a Sunday afternoon.
Tickets are available for $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Advance purchases can be made at New Hartford Presbyterian Church or “Renewed and Rescued” in Herkimer.
