What is Zentangle, you ask? This is the latest method for relaxing and creative drawing which produces beautiful images from structured patterns. It’s simple. The student uses combinations of dots, lines, and simple curves which form “tangles.” Zentangles can be created anytime and anyplace. Practice the process, philosophy, and open-ended artistic improvisation, and your stress will melt away.

Black Tiles can provide a new medium for students to explore, but also provides an opportunity for students to remember, to revisit, and to reconnect with, the basic messages and principles of Zentangle Method, exploring something new and unfamiliar with curiosity, self-compassion, and acceptance. In this class, I stick with familiar tangles allowing students to focus on exploring the new materials.  We will use white ink to tangle on black paper.  We will use a 100% cotton-mould-made archival quality black paper for tile. To shade, we use a buttery-smooth white “charcoal” pencil.

The Following Materials Are Provided:
1) Square Black Tiles
2) 1 graphite pencil
3) 1 white Gelly Roll Pen
4) 1 white Charcoal Pencil

All materials are provided with your paid registration fee and are yours to keep.

As class size is limited, pre-registration and pre-payment are required.  No exceptions! Register and pay in person, with cash, check, or credit card at the MVCA Selective Eye Gift Shop, 403 Canal Place. You could register by mailing a check to MVCA 403 Canal Place, Little Falls, NY 13365.

Please note the date and title of the class for which you are registering on your check.  Registration closes one week before the class to allow the instructor time to purchase sufficient materials. All materials are included in the fee and are yours to take home with you.
