Plans for 2021
The Fine Arts Committee has been busy planning events for the upcoming year. Scheduled for February and March is the Herkimer County Reflections Student/Teacher Exhibition. Area art teachers and students are preparing to display their work at the 401 Art Gallery.
Also this spring (May 2021), Munson Williams Proctor Arts Institute will move its exhibition, “Celebrating Suffrage: The Art of the Vote,” to the MVCA gallery. This exhibition marks the 100-year anniversary of Congress’s ratification of the 19th Amendment and women’s right to vote. The artwork is from the Museum’s collection and also features works created by 10 regional artists, including from the PrattMWP faculty.
The Regional Art Exhibition is scheduled to begin on Thursday, August 5 with an opening reception to follow on August 14. The prospectus is available under our Art News posts on this website.
We are in the process of scheduling solo artist exhibitions, the annual Great Art Giveaway possibly with a new twist, and a student art show.
Committee members: Donna Veeder, Sharon Collins, Jayne Ritz, Doug Whitfield, Robert Buck, Jeff Smith, Linda Wagner, and Mena Cerone.
