Class Title Zentangle Introduction
Instructor Adrienne Watson
Dates Saturday, Oct 16
Times 10am – Noon
Ages 14 and up
Class Description What is Zentangle, you ask? This is the latest method for relaxing and creative drawing which produces beautiful images from structured patterns. It’s simple. The student uses combinations of dots, lines, and simple curves which form “tangles.” Zentangles can be created anytime and anyplace. Practice the process, philosophy, and open-ended artistic improvisation, and your stress will melt away.
Zentangle can provide a new medium for students to explore, but also provides an opportunity for students to remember, to revisit, and to reconnect with, the basic messages and principles of Zentangle Method, exploring something new and unfamiliar with curiosity, self-compassion, and acceptance. In this class, I stick with familiar tangles allowing students to focus on exploring the new materials. We will use black ink to tangle on white paper. We will use a 100% cotton-mould-made archival quality black paper for tile. To shade, we use a buttery-smooth “charcoal” pencil.
