Gallery Opening ~ Ed Bielejec [statement | gallery]
Nineteen oil on canvas paintings by Ed Bielejec are in the gallery space from February 27th to April 2nd, 2005

.

Over 100 people attended the opening reception which included a gallery talk. Ed explained the changes in his art through his years at Pratt, and how it has influenced him. He used the pieces in the exhibit to point out the transformation.
Ed Bielejec operated the South Shore Arts Gallery on South Ann Street, Little Falls from 1991-1999 and served as the director of the Mohawk Valley Center for the Arts for four years. Ed's work has been influenced by early Italian fresco paintings.

Even though ancient civilizations such as Crete, Rome, and Greece experimented with fresco, the zenith of European fresco painting was between the 13th and 17th centuries with Italy developing as its center. Renowned Italian examples of fresco include Michaelangelo’s work in the Sistine Chapel and Raphael’s masterworks in the Stanza della Segnatara. Ed has traveled to study first hand the early frescos in Florence and Rome.

He holds a BFA degree from Syracuse University and holds a double master’s degree in Fine Arts and Art History from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. His works are in many private and corporate collections in the country.

Ed Bielejec is currently a resident of Nashua, NH and working in the field of graphic art.

Artwork is for sale.
