The Mohawk Valley Center for the Arts (MVCA) is an organization dedicated to promote and
facilitate all aspects of the visual & performing arts.
The MVCA assumes the responsibility of leadership and advocacy for these arts through
education, promoting interest, understanding, & thereby advancing appreciation of the
arts. By engendering artistic expression and personal creativity for a diverse
people, the residents of this region will be enhanced.
WORKSHOPS/ CLASSES
We are a multi-art center supplying eight week art classes in watercolor, representational
painting and pottery. Eighteen to twenty workshops a year include crafts, cooking &
gardening.
OUTREACH PROGRAMS
The Mohawk Valley Center for the Arts is working in partnership with
the libraries of Dolgeville, Salisbury Center, Middleville and Newport, to bring
enrichment programs to these areas in the way of art workshops, lectures and
performances. Programs began in April 2005.
THE ART GALLERIES
Gallery 401 exhibits 8 - 10 shows a year. Gallery 403 features member artists works
rotated monthly.
FILM SERIES
An 8 week Winter film series each Sunday at the Valley Cinema, Little Falls and Summer
film forum.
SELECTIVE EYE
A fine arts crafts store at the featuring hand made merchandise by area artisans.
PERFORMANCES
Each year we hold several performances; plays, dramatizations, musical & student
performances and readings.
Save The Arts FundRaisers
Original art work giveaway of local artists art works, Special Events Committee &
other benefits.
